Description:
Valve is linear or slightly lanceolate, narrower at truncate, rounded ends; axial area is distinct, approx. 1/4 the valve breadth, and becoming wider toward the centre; the raphe is filamentous with distinct terminal fissures; central area is transverse and rounded; terminal nodules are distinct; lineate striae are radiate throughout most of the Valve and bent near the margins, becoming convergent at the ends; length 70-220µm, breadth is 12-24µm; striae count is 6-9 in 10µm
