Description:
Frustules in girdle view rectilinear, in valve view with straight ventral margin, convex dorsal margin, with acute apices (sometimes rounded) that are undifferentiated from the rest of the valve; distinct terminal nodules removed from the ends of the valve, appearing as notches in ventral margin at some foci; striae more distant at centre of valve than at the ends; length is 15-50µm, breadth is 4-7µm; striae count is 13-17 in 10µm
