Description:
Valve is lanceolate, gradually tapering towards acute, sometimes slightly attenuated or distinctly rostrate ends; axial area is linear and distinct; central area usually not differentiated from axial area though sometimes it might be slightly wider; an inner septum with irregular openings sometimes present; striae composed of puncta forming (parallel) transverse and longitudinal lines (22-26 in 10µm); length is 30-120µm, breadth is 15-25µm; striae count is 16-22 (may be 14-24) in 10µm
