Description:
Valve is linear with capitate apices; axial area is narrow and distinct, appearing to be more heavily silicified than the rest of the valve; central area is small and rounded; striae are very fine and hardly visible with the light microscope (slightly radiate under the electron microscope), a little coarser around the central area where they are of irregular length and more strongly radiate, and convergent near the apices; length is 19-32µm, breadth is 3.5-5µm; striae count is approximately 40-45 in 10µm
