Description:
Valves semi-lanceolate with slightly protracted sub-capitate ends. Dorsal margin convex, slightly flattened at the central part of the valve; ventral margin straight. Raphe branches straight; internal central raphe endings hidden by flap of silica extending from the dorsal side Terminal fissures on the inner side of the valve end in weakly developed helictoglossae. Axial area narrow; central area absent on dorsal side, on the ventral side bounded by ventral striae. Conopeum under LM visible as longitudinal line running along the axial area. Dorsal striae composed of slit-like areolae placed between transapical ribs. Ventral striae dash-like, very short at the centre.
Notes:
Rare on seagrass from Butternut Key, Florida Bay with water depth < 2m and average salinity 29ppt.
