Description:
Valve is lanceolate with rounded, attenuated extremities which are occasionally slightly protracted; axial area is linear, varying in width from about 4-8µm, but usually broad; stauros is mostly linear, sometimes slightly expanding; raphe is broad, tapering toward the proximal and distal ends; distinctly punctate striae are radiate throughout; length is 70-380µm, breadth is 16-53µ; striae count is 12-17 in 10µm (punctae variable in number as striae)
