Description:
Valves elliptic-lanceolate with weakly rostrate ends; raphe is complex; axial area is very narrow, widened into a transversely oval central area; punctate striae are parallel to slightly radiate, becoming convergent towards the apices (longitudinal striae are sometimes formed by regular alignment of punctae); transapically rectangular loculae are 3µm wide (7-10 in 10µm), stopping a short way before the poles, and are rectangular with flat inner margin; length is 40-50µm, breadth is 14-19µm; striae count is 20 in 10µm (20-24 in 10µm longitudinally)
