Description:
Valve is elliptical to elliptical-lanceolate with somewhat drawn out, fairly sharp ends; raphe is straight or very narrow with small, somewhat transversely widened and irregular central area; cell wall is areolate, areolae forming a closed net arranged in three striae systems crossing each other and appearing noticeable transapically elongated (transapical rows are slightly radial, about 20 in 10µm, while sloping rows are regular, about 12 in 10µm); chamber ring is narrow, about 1.5µm wide; chambers are uniform, rectangular or square with convex or free margins, and occurring up to the drawn out ends (4-6 in 10µm); length is 23-40µm long, breadth is 9-17µm wide
