Description:
Valve is lanceolate with rounded, sometimes slightly protracted ends; axial area is narrow, sometimes widened towards a large, transverse central area; median raphe ends are slightly turned in the same direction; distinctly isolated punctum is present; distinctly punctate striae are radiate, irregularly shortened at the central area; length is 10-40µm, breadth is 7-12µm; striae count is 14-20 in 10µm
