Description:
Valves semi-lanceolate with protracted capitate ends. Dorsal margin convex, ventral margin straight to slightly concave. Raphe branches straight, proximal and distal ends deflected dorsally. Axial area very narrow, central area transversely expanded and visible as transapical hyaline fascia, rectangular, reaching the dorsal margin. Dorsal striae very dense, but resolvable under LM. Ventral striae not resolvable under LM.
Notes:
Common in coastal mangroves near the Biscayne Bay coast in shallow water (<0.3m) with salinity ranging between 15 - 20ppt.
