Description:
Valves linear with broadly rounded ends. Dorsal margin arcuate, ventral margin straight. Raphe branches abruptly arched. Axial area narrow, widened near the center; central area slightly expanded at the dorsal side, absent on the ventral side. Dorsal and ventral striae delicately punctuate, more or less parallel at the center becoming radiate towards the ends. Differentiate from A. obtuse by having more robust valve shape.
