Ecological Preference:
Valves semi-lanceolate with delicately rostrate, ventrally oriented ends. Dorsal margin convex, ventral margin more or less straight. Raphe branches gently arched dorsally. Proximal ends of the raphe located close to each other and bent dorsally, distal ends also oriented toward the dorsal side. Axial area very narrow; central area absent. Dorsal striae parallel in the central part of the valve, becoming radiate towards the ends. Ventral striae short, radiate near the center, and becoming parallel towards the ends. Striae delicately punctate.
