These leaves were always sampled from the surface to about 2.5 m height and leaves were selected that received direct sunlight. Method Step Description The flux of carbon dioxide and water vapor was monitored from a number of leaves. Fluxes were only measured once a steady state value was reached. This typically took about 30 seconds to 60 seconds to occur. Instrumentation LiCor 6400 Gas Exchange system equipped with a red/blue light source in the sensor head.
