We condense these data into daily cumulative rainfall, although hourly rain level data are also available. Geographic Coverage Study Extent Description The Study Extent of this dataset includes four of the FCE Taylor Slough research sites just outside Everglades National Park, South Florida Bounding Coordinates Geographic description: FCE LTER Site TS/Ph1a West bounding coordinate: -80.590 East bounding coordinate: -80.590 North bounding coordinate: 25.424 South bounding coordinate: 25.424 Geographic description: FCE LTER Site TS/Ph1b West bounding coordinate: -80.590 East bounding coordinate: -80.590 North bounding coordinate: 25.439 South bounding coordinate: 25.439 Geographic description: FCE LTER Site TS/Ph2 West bounding coordinate: -80.607 East bounding coordinate: -80.607 North bounding coordinate: 25.404 South bounding coordinate: 25.404 Geographic description: FCE LTER Site TS/Ph3 West bounding coordinate: -80.663 East bounding coordinate: -80.663 North bounding coordinate: 25.252 South bounding coordinate: 25.252 FCE LTER Sites: TS/Ph1a, TS/Ph1b, TS/Ph2,TS/Ph3 All Sites Geographic Description:FCE LTER Site TS/Ph1a Longitude:-80.590 Latitude:25.424 Geographic Description:FCE LTER Site TS/Ph1b Longitude:-80.590 Latitude:25.439 Geographic Description:FCE LTER Site TS/Ph2 Longitude:-80.607 Latitude:25.404 Geographic Description:FCE LTER Site TS/Ph3 Longitude:-80.663 Latitude:25.252 Temporal Coverage Start Date: 2000-07-11 End Date: 2021-12-31 Data Table Entity Name: PHY_Rubio_001.csv Entity Description: Precipitation from the Taylor Slough, Everglades National Park, South Florida Object Name: PHY_Rubio_001.csv Data Format Number of Header Lines: 1 Attribute Orientation: column Field Delimiter: , Number of Records: Attributes Attribute Name: SITENAME Attribute Label: sitename Attribute Definition: Name of LTER site Storage Type: text Measurement Scale: Name of LTER site Missing Value Code: Attribute Name: Date Attribute Label: date Attribute Definition: Collection date Storage Type: datetime Measurement Scale: Missing Value Code: Attribute Name: Precipitation Attribute Label: precipitation Attribute Definition: precipitation Storage Type: data Measurement Scale: Units: centimetersPerDay Precision: 0.01 Number Type: real Missing Value Code: -9999.00 (Value will never be recorded ) Methods Sampling Description Rain level recorders are connected to ISCO autosamplers. The accuracy of the rain level recorders are 0.01 in. The autosampler queries the rain level recorder at least every 30 minutes for rain data. The rain level data is downloaded from the ISCO autosampler using a Dell 3800 laptop. The software used to download the information is ISCO Flowlink 3.23. To get one rain level reading per day, all the rain data is downloaded into Micosoft Excel, and the readings for a day are summed. Rain data is then transformed from inches to centimeters by multiplying the numbers by 2.54.
