Our goal is to investigate how variation in hydrology, water quality, and disturbance influence secondary production. This data set represents the numeric count data of fish, plants, and other fauna. Each throwtrap was then bar-seined for fish, invertebrates, and other organisms, all of which were returned to the laboratory for further analysis, including total counts of each species. Instrumentation Standard laboratory balances micrometers graduated cylinders The throwtrap used to sample was 85cm (H) x 100cm (W) x 100cm (L) The perimeter of the trap was covered with 3/16 inch mesh. Quality Control All analyses completed with standards for precision and accuracy Distribution Online distribution: http://fcelter.fiu.edu/perl/public_data_download.pl?datasetid=LT_CD_Trexler_001.txt Intellectual Rights These data are classified as 'Type II' whereby original FCE LTER experimental data collected by individual FCE researchers to be released to restricted audiences according to terms specified by the owners of the data. Type II data are considered to be exceptional and should be rare in occurrence. The justification for exceptions must be well documented and approved by the lead PI and Site Data Manager. Some examples of Type II data restrictions may include: locations of rare or endangered species, data that are covered under prior licensing or copyright (e.g., SPOT satellite data), or covered by the Human Subjects Act, Student Dissertation data and those data related to the FCE LTER Program but not funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) under LTER grants #DEB-9910514, and # DBI-0620409. Researchers that make use of Type II Data may be subject to additional restrictions to protect any applicable commercial or confidentiality interests. As per Dr. Joel Trexler, these data will NOT be updated (Feb. 2016). Blank cells indicate presence of species (density information will be inserted later) Information Management Notes Information Manager (September 8, 2005) added Date and SITENAME and Changed Column Headings to: Month,Year, Area, FPO, Plot, SpeciesName, SpeciesCount, NumofThrowTraps, SpeciesDensity. Please note: This data file will be updated sometime in the next two to three years (2011-2012) once outside funding agency obligations have been met (L.Powell, January 2009). This is a long-term trophic dynamics and community structure dataset and subsequent data will be appended. This dataset replaces all previous versions of LT_CD_Trexler_001 original and (v1-v5). The FCE program is discontinuing its practice of versioning data as of March 2013.
