  • Dataset Abstract
    In early 2010 we established three new permanent water quality monitoring stations in the Shark River Estuary. These stations expanded FCE's spatial coverage in terms of salinity and also established the first continuous dissolved oxygen monitoring in the estuary.

    Sampling Description
    Water data was collected by three YSI 6920v2 Sondes positioned approximately 10cm above the river bottom. The Sondes collected temperature, salinity, depth, and dissolved oxygen data every 30 minutes.

    6920v2 Sondes (YSI, Yellow Springs, OH)

    Quality Control
    All data sets were combed for obvious outlier data points by Adam Rosenblatt and all outliers were removed from the data sets. Data points were also periodically independently verified in the field at each site using a YSI handheld multiparameter water quality instrument.

    These data are classified as 'Type I' whereby original FCE LTER experimental data collected by individual FCE researchers are available for scientific purposes 2 years after collection. Maximum lock period = 2 years.
